Who said that a proper baby blanket has to be knitted in pastel colored yarn?
Not in our day and age! Bright-yellow might be just a right color! How about this yellow?
The buzzy bees and characteristic stripes make this baby blanket adorable and fun at the same time! It is easy to knit and will make a great gift for any new mom and her baby (especially, if we do not know yet if it is a boy or a girl).
Materials
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Yarn (7 oz/364 yards; 198 g/ 333 m)
or any similar aran weight yarn
Bright yellow: 2 skeins
Black: 1 skein
Tools: needles US size 4 (3.5 mm)
Finished size: 31 x 39 inch (78 x 100 cm)
Gauge: 16 sts and 24 rows per 4 inches in stocknet

Pattern for Magic Carpet Blanket





This hand-crocheted quilt uses front post and back post double crochets to mimic handstitched lines in this Trip Around the World pattern. The thick, warm blanket works equally well as a play mat for having tea with a few friends. Washable yarn means it cleans up easily. 

Finished Size: About 54" wide and 64" long. 
Yarn: Debbie Macomber Blossom Street Collection Rosebud (100% superwash extrafine merino; 137 yd [125 m]/1 3⁄4 oz [50 g]; ): #504 petunia (dark purple; MC), 6 balls; #501 bleeding heart (dark pink; A), #502 sweetpea (light pink; B), #500 tendril (light green; C) 
Hook: Size H/8 (5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge. 
Notions: Yarn needle. 
Gauge: Block patt measures about 3 1⁄2" blocked.

Knitting Pattern for Dots Blanket


 

The DOTS BLANKET can be modified to any size or to use any combination of colors. Designer DEBBIE O'NEILL constructed the afghan out of individual squares, which are picked up and knit from each other-no sewing involved!
Finished Size: 32 (40, 48, 56)" wide and 40 (40, 60, 72)" long. Blanket shown measures 40" wide and 40" long.
Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (100% superwash wool; 220 yd [200 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #871 natural (MC), 7 (8, 14, 20) skeins; #1914 pale blue (CC1), 1 (2, 2, 3) skein(s); #1921 red (CC2), 1 (1, 1, 2) skein(s).
Yarn Weight: #3 - Light
Needles: Size 6 (4 mm): straight and 47" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle.
Gauge: 20 sts and 40 rows = 4" in garter st. One square measures 4" × 4".
