Baby Blanket Pattern to Knit



A quick project: baby blanket knitting pattern. Comfort a new baby with this super-soft cotton hat and matching blanket lined with plaid flannel for extra warmth, comfort, and beauty. 

Finished Size: Blanket: 26 (37)" (66 [94] cm) wide and 29 1/2 (41)" (75 [104] cm) long. Hat: 15 (17)" (38 [43] cm) circumference; to fit 0-6 (6-12) months. Hat shown measures 17" (43 cm).
Yarn: Rowan All Seasons Cotton (60% cotton, 40% acrylic; 98 yd [90 m]/50 g): #194 cape (purple; A), 4 (5) skeins; #185 jazz (turquoise; B) and #197 limedrop (chartreuse; C), 3 (4) skeins each. Also shown in #183 jaunty (salmon) with #198 melba (pink) and #197 limedrop.
Yarn weight: #4 - Medium
Gauge: 17 sts and 25 rows = 4" (10 cm) in St st on larger needle.
Needles: Blanket edging-Size 4 (3.5 mm): 32" (80-cm) circular (cir). Blanket body-Size 7 (4.5 mm): 32" (80-cm) cir. Hat edging-Size 5 (3.75 mm): 16" (40-cm) cir. Hat body-Size 7 (4.5 mm): 16" (40-cm) cir and set of 4 double-pointed (dpn).
Notions: Tapestry needle; 1 (1 1/4) yd (1 [1.15] m) 45" (114-cm) -wide fabric for backing; straight pins; matching sewing thread; sharp sewing needle; marker (m) for hat only.
